RECALL: A multi-state outbreak of #Salmonella Sandiego has been linked to Hy-Vee Spring Pasta Salad prepackaged and sold at the deli counter. If you have this product in your home – do not eat – throw away or return to store. Stores where this product are sold are in IL, IA, KS, MN, MO, NE, SD, & WI.
Most people infected with Salmonella develop diarrhea, fever, & abdominal cramps 12 to 72 hours after infection. The illness usually lasts 4 to 7 days – most people recover without treatment. Children younger than 5, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems are more likely to have severe infections. If you think you have a Salmonella infection, consult your healthcare provider.
To date there have been 21 people identified w/this Salmonella strain, 5 hospitalizations & no deaths. @FDAFood, CDC, along with state & local partners are continuing their investigation.
