ALERT: Do not eat Panera cream cheese (all varieties) packaged in 2-ounce and 8-ounce containers with expiration date on or before 4/2/18 and sold in Panera Bread bakeries nationwide. This cream cheese could be contaminated with Listeria Monocytogenes, a germ causing a serious sometimes fatal illness in young children, frail and elderly people, and those with chronic health conditions (weakened immune systems). The germ can cause pregnant women to lose their babies. Healthy individuals who become infected usually experience only short-term symptoms such as fever, headache, and diarrhea.
